Currently, Gladys Haydée Ortiz is the Regional Coordinator of the PEPE-NETWORK Hispana 2 program, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ahuachapán, and Director of Information, Promotion, and Communication of UFBAL.
She developed her leadership by serving for several years as president of the Baptist Women’s Association of El Salvador (AFEBES) and also as president of the Baptist Association of El Salvador.
She has participated in UBLA consultations at regional and national levels, as well as in peace dialogue tables with the group Semillas de Nueva Creación, and in conferences promoted by Baptists for Peace — the most recent of which was held in Caracas.
